The RBS Chairman (who has an Annual salary of £1.2 million) has evidently done his job this year so well, let's give the poor lamb £963,000 bonus in shares from taxpayers bank subsidy money, as the Foggy and Cleggy LibCon men say it is fair...seems it is OK to pay this effectively from the public purse....i feel it is not enough, so will probably send him all of my pension and my house too.....

ps....anyone know of a good barricade builder... as my generation certainly knew how to protest....none of this sitting around in tents for months on end having discussion groups....plotting and direct action, that's what we need..plotting and direct action.....Pirate

The bonus is in shares which should give him the incentive to improve returns but RBS is sailing in the global trough and nobody could make any difference.
So many of these giants gain their reputation on the number of closures they make.
Do we know what positive improvements this guy has made. If there has been very few, sack him and appoint a cheaper model without bonuses.

I think us pensioners should get a bonus for the good jobs we do in the community, what's that I hear you say there are pink pigs flying over the houses of Parliament

When I worked I sometimes was given a bonus or tip, It was given to me invariably because I had done a good job. It never happened without the job being finished and up to or above the required standard.
Afraid I do not see an up to standard job at the RBS, nor yet do I perceive it to be anywhere near finished. The obscenity of the amount aside, it beggars belief at how these clowns are rushing to shower their friend with money.

The problem is the chairman probably got a really good contract to tempt him to RBS in the first place and is sticking to it. I do know that when I worked if anyone suggested that we give up our bonus nasty things would have happened to that person and yes I know it wasn't the £1000k's that this chap is getting, more's the pity. I left RBS when I was sold off. Kay x
